SEPTEMBER 2009 - ELECTION RESULTS FOR HOUSE & VICE-HOUSE CAPTAINS:

CYCLE TRAINING SCHEME
Caretaker, Andrew Weaver and our Police Community Support Officer, Tim Russell,
both volunteered to undergo training by Somerset County Council's Road Safety Unit in order to take groups
of Year 6 children through the Cycle Training Scheme.
This Scheme is part of our School Travel Plan, and will help raise awareness of road safety whilst cycling.
We hope this will encourage more children to cycle to school as part of our stay safe, keep fit policies.
This scheme is on-going throughout the year with groups of 10 children taking part in several sessions
to train them on routine bike checks, practical classroom manoevres, followed by playground
training and finally 'on road' manoevres conducted on local roads, and watched by an external assessor from the Road Safety Unit.
