i left bruton primary in 1984, wowee thats a long time ago!! enough to let the scars heal..hehe..only joking it was a great school and i was the school football team goalkeeper. ive since changed my name to ed van der saar...

so pleased to find your website, I attended this school from 1944 -1954. It was great to see all the photos, it brought back so many memories.
I now live across the Irish sea in County Clare. It is good to let family and friends see my old school as it was all those years ago.

Hello staff and pupils at Bruton. I'm an ex-pupil who left in about 1973. I was so pleased to find your excellent website. I have many happy memories of the school; doing plays at lunchtime in the hall with real tickets, talent shows, the whole class knitting a blanket for Mr Ditchburn's baby; the arrival of science, when we were allowed to make up any experiment we liked. (Mine was about vegetable dyes, and the jars of cabbage water went really mouldy over many months), the school garden, the swimming pool, the outside toilets and the school dinner stew days that everyone loved. I'm a primary teacher now and among all the test and targets, I know that these are the things you remember from primary school, not who built the columbarium (although I know that, too, 33 years on!) Thanks a lot!

I personaly think the school is a nice place because of a huge field and a play area. If we could make the school any better I think we could have a wild-life area and then make things like benches and bird feeders and things like that in D.T. I think it would be good if we had a wildlife area where the water tank is.

I have just recently installed the internet and didn't realise all the things i had been missing out on!. Hi everyone, often look to see whats been happening at Bruton. Great to see so much activity.
Lovely to see pupils I remember, gosh they have all grown up so much!
Life in Barnstaple is good, school is hectic and quite mad at times but it's a fantastic place to be.
The beaches are amazing, spend a lot of time wave watching even in winter. Warmer days are on the way! Will try to get down for the summer fair. Happy Days, with best wishes Sue Smith.

What a stunning website you have! Love the colours and the ease of use! I really liked all the photographs which give an insight into the sort of great educational environment the children enjoy.

I have just left Bruton primary school well i left on tuesday i have been missing all of you lots the leaving service was a great success because we got a gift from the psa and i got the coldmans swimming sheild and the silvercirle swimming thing that your aloud to keep but aren't aloud to keep the swimming sheild my sister is going to take that back when she goes back
